Al-Ahly’s new signing, Aliou Dieng, revealed his happiness after he joined Al-Ahly from Mouloudia Club d’Alger this summer.
“Al-Ahly is so popular in Africa and you cannot refuse an offer to join such a big club.” Dieng said during an interview with Al-Ahly TV.
Dieng started his career in local club, Djoliba AC, before being recruited by MC Alger in 2018.
Dieng added “My family is so proud after I joined Al-Ahly despite they know that I want to play in Europe. They always tell me that I am playing at the best club in the continent.”
The Malian midfielder expects a massive competition with the team’s midfielders, Amr El Solia, Hamdy Fathy and Hossam Ashour.
Dieng continued “I am used to the competition and I will do my best to earn my position.”
Dieng joined Al-Ahly in July and watched his teammates celebrating the Egyptian league title.
Al-Ahly achieved their 41st league title after a fierce competition with arch rivals, Zamalek.
